We believe that the Holy Bible, as given in the King James Version, is the verbally inspired Word of God — perfect, preserved, and without error. The King James Bible is our final and sole authority in all matters of faith and practice.

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." (2 Timothy 3:16–17)

We believe in one eternal God, Creator of all things, who exists in three co-equal, co-eternal persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, manifested in three distinct persons.

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, was bodily raised from the dead on the third day, and ascended into Heaven where He now sits at the right hand of God the Father.

We believe in His literal, personal, bodily return to this earth.

We believe that all men are sinners by nature and by choice, and are in need of salvation. Salvation is entirely the work of God through Jesus Christ, received by grace through faith alone — not by works, church membership, baptism, or any human merit.

We believe in the eternal security of the born-again believer.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8–9)

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; indwells, seals, and empowers every born-again believer; and guides the church into all truth through the Word of God.

We believe in the local, visible, autonomous church — a body of baptized believers, voluntarily gathered together, holding to Baptist distinctives, governed by the Word of God, and accountable to no outside ecclesiastical authority.

Capital City Baptist Church is an independent Baptist church. We have no denominational affiliation.

We believe that there are two ordinances for the local church: Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is an outward declaration of an inward transformation — not a means of salvation.

The Lord's Supper is a memorial ordinance in which the church remembers the death of Jesus Christ until He comes. It is observed with unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine.

We believe in the personal, bodily return of Jesus Christ. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all the dead — the saved unto eternal life, and the unsaved unto eternal judgment.

We believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one man and one woman, as established by God in creation and confirmed throughout Scripture.

We believe that every born-again Christian is called to a life of holiness, separated from the world and unto God. This includes the stewardship of time, money, and the body; faithful attendance at and support of the local church; and daily devotion to the Word of God and prayer.
